Queer celebration of love has always been political. This 2025 mixed-media collection centers love in a time of hatred, turmoil, chaos, and erasure for the Queer and Trans community. It calls for us to remember the beauty, the magick in loving ourselves and each other, itself a form of resistance. It encourages you to get your freak on in the face of fascism– write love letters, put on stolen lipstick, go get stepped on. It demands that Queer folks be allowed to embrace the fullest versions of themselves, rather than a sanitized version that better vibes with the mainstream vision of “love.” These pieces have layers, and are best enjoyed at different times of day in different light. Hold up a UV-flashlight at night and watch the hearts shine, shimmer, and glow– like the Queer community as the shadows of government attempt (and fail!) to cloak us. Each piece can be enjoyed separately, and each holds its own important message, but, like our community, together their visual and political impact is stronger.
